Independent design reviews are for homeowners already planning or underway with a renovation.

Bring photographs, plans, sketches, selections or specifications, or walk us through your space by video. We’ll focus on the decisions where professional guidance would be most useful.

• Vanity or cabinetry drawings
• Lighting and electrical placement from a design perspective
• Plumbing fixtures
• Tile, stone, hardware, paint and other finishes
• Photographs and relevant product selections
• Missing details or decisions that should be resolved before construction
What you receive :
• A 45-minute virtual consultation to review our findings
• A concise written summary. If plans and elevations have been provided, you will also receive annotated plans when applicable.
• Prioritized recommendations for next steps
Small Bathroom Review

Kitchen or Primary Bathroom Review

A comprehensive independent review of a larger renovation, considering the project as a whole rather than room by room.
We look for inconsistencies, missed opportunities and unresolved details across the plans and selections, with particular attention to how the home will function and feel once the work is complete.
What we review in advance:
• Available floor plans and elevations
• Layout, circulation, scale and clearances
• Cabinetry and built-in drawings
• Lighting and electrical placement from a design perspective
• Furniture layouts, where applicable
• Finish and material selections
• Photographs and relevant product selections
• Missing details or decisions that should be resolved before construction
• Storage and functionality
• Areas where investment may be better prioritized
What you receive:
• A 90-minute virtual consultation
• A written Renovation Risk Summary with annotated plans or images where helpful
• Prioritized recommendations outlining:
- What should be resolved before construction
- What we recommend reconsidering or verifying
- Details or opportunities that may have been overlooked
- The most important decisions to address next

Materials are due two business days before your scheduled consultation so we have time to review them carefully.

For all audit services, Florence reviews your materials in advance and prepares the key observations and recommendations to discuss during your consultation.

We walk through the findings together, answer questions and discuss the priorities for moving forward.
For audit services, your written summary will be sent within two business days following the consultation.
The 60-minute Design Consultation does not include a written summary.

What is not included?
Independent Design Reviews do not include:
• Construction documents, drafting or specifications
• Architectural, structural, mechanical, code or permit review
• Sourcing or procurement
• Purchasing or vendor negotiation
• Contractor selection or project management
• Site visits
• Meetings or correspondence with contractors, architects or trades
• Ongoing design services or revisions after the review is complete

• Fees are paid in full at booking and are non-refundable.
• Review fees are separate from full-service interior design fees and are not applied as a credit toward future services.
• Project materials are due two business days before the scheduled consultation. Late submissions will require rescheduling.
• Recommendations are based on the materials provided to us at the time of review.
• Independent Design Review is an interior design advisory service and does not replace the work or responsibility of your architect, contractor, engineer or other licensed professionals.
