This 1965 Eichler home in San Rafael, California, was transformed into a modern family retreat that balances minimalism, warmth, and personality.
Collaborating with Tim Lawlor Construction and Precision Cabinets, we reconfigured the layout to create a new kitchen that connects seamlessly to the great room and garden, perfect for gatherings and indoor-outdoor living.
We honored the home’s mid-century roots while updating it for modern life, incorporating clean lines, natural materials, and a warm, earthy palette. Materials like white oak, walnut, and quartzite were layered with leather and wool for texture and depth. Custom furnishings and curated art added playful and unexpected touches, including a mural by Locust and a sliding door by Aleksandra Zee. The result is a stylish and functional home that reflects the family’s vibrant lifestyle and celebrates Eichler’s architectural legacy.
