Nestled in the hills of Sausalito, this 1905 Shingle-style home is rich in character and sweeping Bay views. Our design approach honored the original architecture while creating interiors that feel warm, moody, and timeless.
For a client who is an avid traveler, we layered his collected treasures with vintage pieces, artisanal accents, and contemporary furnishings to strike a balance between comfort and sophistication. A palette of coastal hues, deep woods, and textured materials creates a masculine yet inviting atmosphere that shifts beautifully with the natural light filtering through the trees.
The scope included furnishing most of the home, adding a statement wallpaper in the dining room, refreshing walls with new paint, and updating the outdated lighting throughout. We also reimagined a corner of the kitchen with a built-in refrigerator and much-needed storage, designed to blend seamlessly with the existing cabinetry. The result is a collected and soulful retreat—layered, personal, and perfectly attuned to both its hillside setting and its owner’s story.
